Strawberry season is in full swing and Day 2 of the strawberry delight challenge brings us a cocktail perfect for any summer setting across the globe. It’s refreshing, balanced, and it looks marvelous! Picture yourself with one of these charming little delights dancing on a boat on the Riviera, at a friends backyard barbecue, or simply sitting on the couch with your significant other after a long day of work.
Today’s feature is the Fraoula Martini from @ThasosTaverna in Fort Lauderdale, FL consisting of GREY GOOSE, strawberry, and basil.
The recipe is so simple, you can easily create your own version at home. The farmers markets are a flutter with strawberries so cheap at the moment – go out and support you local farmers’ markets!
Recipe taken from Food and Wine El Salvador–born mixologist José Zepeda
3 strawberries, plus 1 thin slice
3 basil leaves
1/2 ounce Simple Syrup
1 ounce gin, preferably Tanqueray No. Ten
1 ounce vodka
1/2 ounce fresh lime juice
In a cocktail shaker, muddle the strawberries with the basil leaves and Simple Syrup. Add ice and the remaining ingredients and shake well. Strain into a chilled martini glass and garnish with the strawberry slice.
Easy enough, right? Enjoy and you’re welcome 🙂
